Zusammenfassung:In 1973, five young French composers formed an ensemble called "L'Itinéraire." These five composers, Gérard Grisey, Michaël Levinas, Tristan Murail, Roger Tessier and Hugues Dufourt, were all former students of Olivier Messiaen at the Pariser Conservatoire, except for Dufourt. Their ambitious plan was to develop a new musical language on the basis of scientific knowledge of the laws of acoustics and the psychology of perception. One of the group's important works was the "Prologue" of Grisey's "Les Espaces acoustiques," which crossed the boundaries of perception. The group's musical influences, as well as the reception of their work, are discussed.
