Zusammenfassung:A study by Kagna et al. in which they assessed the role of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/CT imaging in the diagnosis of osteomyelitis in the diabetic foot is discussed. The likeliest outcome is that synergistic information gathered from 18F-FDG PET/CT and other modalities including MRI will increase our combined diagnostic sensitivity and therefore expedite effective treatment of this complex pathology.
