D001: Association of angiotensinogene, angiotensin-i converting enzyme and endothelial cell nitric oxide synthase gene polymorphism with blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy

The present study investigated the relationship of the parameters of the 24-h ambulatory monitoring of blood pressure (ABPM) and echocardiography values of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) due to essential hypertension (EH) with the T174M polymorphism of angiotensinogene (AGT) gene, I/D polymorphi...

Zusammenfassung:The present study investigated the relationship of the parameters of the 24-h ambulatory monitoring of blood pressure (ABPM) and echocardiography values of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) due to essential hypertension (EH) with the T174M polymorphism of angiotensinogene (AGT) gene, I/D polymorphism of angiotensin-I converting enzyme (ACE) gene and VNTR polymorphism of endothelial cell nitric oxide synthase (ecNOS) gene. The study included 98 patients with EH (mean age 47,0 ± 6,5 years). The gene polymorphism was determined by PCR. The minimal, average and maximal parameters of systolic BP (SBP) and diastolic BP (DBP), day-time, night-time, full-time BP load, velocity of morning BP raise, day-night BP reduction were assessed by ABPM. The left ventricular mass index (LVMI) was estimated by echocardiography. TM genotype of AGT gene was associated with increased values of velocity of morning SBP and DBP raise (about in 3 time vs TT and MM genotypes) (p = 0,01; R2 = 0,08 and p = 0,02; R2 = 0,09, respectively) and with maximal values of SBP and DBP (p < 0,01). DD genotype of ACE gene characterized cases of nocturnal increase SBP (p = 0,02; R2 = 0,21). VNTR polymorphism of ecNOS gene didn’t connect with values of ABPM parameters. I/D polymorphism of ACE gene and VNTR polymorphism of ecNOS gene were associated with LVMI values (g/m2). Probably, I/D polymorphism of ACE gene and VNTR polymorphism of ecNOS gene are genetics markers of LVH due to EH and T174M polymorphism of AGT gene is marker of adverse levels of ABPM parameters in patients with EH.
