The Nominating Committee for 2012, consisting of Stephanie J. Shaw, Ohio State University, chair; W. Fitzhugh Brundage, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Kenneth W. Goings, Ohio State University; Wilma King, University of Missouri; and Robert R. Korstad, Duke University, requests suggestions from the SHA membership for die office of vice president/president-elect and members of the Executive Council. Finalists for the award were Barbara A. Gannon's The Won Cause: Black and White Comradeship in the Grand Army of the Republic, published by University of North Carolina Press in 201 1, and Bradley R. Clampitt's The Confederate Heartland: Military and Civilian Morale in the Western Confederacy, published by Louisiana State University Press in 2011.
