Zusammenfassung:Cardiac and neurologic toxicities (paresthesias of the oral mucosa, limbs or entire body, progressive skeletal muscle weakness, respiratory depression, seizures), as well as increased vagal tone (bradycardia, miosis, diaphoresis, abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and hypersalivation), results from the persistent opening of the voltage-dependent sodium channels [5]. Despite limitations inherent to an isolated case report, this successful clinical experience as well as pharmacologic principles and some experimental data support the use of this widely available agent to control aconite-induced dysrhythmias.
