Zusammenfassung: | Intense competition rises to the occasion in a global world. In this process, for almost all economy, instution, society and individuals it has become a necessity to behave appropriately in this culture of high competition. Efficiency and productivity of the accommodation businesses are even more important in this intense competition atmosphere. In this study used data from the accommodation businesses (hotels, motels, hostels, holiday village, camping and thermal spas etc.). The aim of study in this direction is based on the measurement of technical efficiency, change in technical efficiency, technologic change and total factor productivity and change of the components of the cities in Aegean region, West and East of Marmara region and Mediterranean region the period of 2007-2010. In this study, while the number of total arrivals to a facility and staying in the facility are used as output, total bed capacity of a facility is used as input. Since accommodation businesses aim to achieve more output using their current input, rather than increasing their input; output-oriented data envelopment analysis has been preferred. Data Envolepment Analysis and Malmquist Total Factor Productivity index methods are used to measurement technical efficiency and change in total factor productivity. Findings are revealed that accommodation businesses in Mediterranean and Aegean Region are more preferable and developed within the context of touristic aspect than the accommodation businesses in West and East of Marmara Region.
