P-163: A randomized crossover study of the additive effect of lercanidipine and indapamide in patients with the mild to moderate hypertension

Zusammenfassung: | Background and Objective: There are controversies about additive effect of the combination of calcium channel blocker (CCB) and diuretics. We aimed to study the effects of lercanidipine, indapamide or combination therapy on home (HBP) and 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure (ABPM), and to examine the agreement of its two methods. Method: 40 patients participated in this study, which had a randomized open crossover design. For each subject there were three treatment phases, each of duration 4 weeks. The initial treatments in each phase were 10mg lercanidipine once a day and 1mg indapamide once a day, separately and in combination. Each patient checked HBP four times a day twice (2nd and 4th week) in each phase and two 24-hour ABPMs of the 3 phases. Also we measured an agreement between HBP and ABPM by the Bland-Altman plot. Result: 34 patients (mean age, 49 ± 9 (31–71); male, 18 patients) completed the study. Blood pressure was significantly reduced during all active treatment phases compared with baseline and that for the lercanidipine plus indapamide phase was also significantly less than those for both the other active treatment phases. The results of 24h ABPM follow the table. Lercanidipine(L) Indapamide (I) L + I p 24h mean SBP 131.4 ± 7.6 126.2 ± 7.5 .003 130.1 ± 13.2 122.1 ± 11.0 |
