Zusammenfassung:It is known that SNS activity plays an important role in the function of cardiovascular system of hypertensive subjects. The aim of the study was to elucidate the association between urine catecholamines (cats), noradrenaline (NOR), adrenaline (ADR), vanil-mandelic acid (VMA) and fumctional indexes of ascending aorta in hypertensive patients. Study population consisted of 233 untreated hypertensive men and women, with uncomplicated arterial hypertension (Mean age 49.9 ± 12.4 years old, MeanSDBP 151.6/ 97.9 ± 18.6/10.0 mmHg). Cats,NOR,ADR,VMA, were measured in 24 hour urine collection, wlile dippens and non-dippens were determined by 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure measurement (ABPM), in which some of the patients were subjected 104 patients). Distensibility (Daao), strain and elastic modules (EP) of ascending aorta were calculated by using indexes obtained by doppler echocardiogram 3cm above aortic valve. Daao = 2 × change in aortic diameter/diastolic aortic diameter × pulse pressure. Strain = change in aortic diameter/ mean aortic diameter. EP= pulse pressure/ change in aortic diameter/mean aortic diameter. The study population was devided in three groups: Group A = all patients N=233. Group B = dippen N=38. Group C = non-dippen N=66.
