Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Sequential Analysis and Observational Methods for the Behavioral Sciences by Roger Bakeman and Vicenç Quera (see record 2011-24266-000). Sequential Analysis and Observational Methods for the Behavioral Sciences itself is rather straightforward (i.e., lacking frilly elements), as one might expect of a statistical reference manual, which is the best way for me to describe this book. Bakeman and Quera’s text is a useful reference guide for how to apply sequential analysis, with several examples of its actual use. It should be a useful guide to those sequential analysis researchers already applying such methods to their work but would have benefited from more discussion of when to apply such methods (to alert nonusers to its potential applicability to their work), as its appeal appears to be mainly to those already familiar with it. It is thus more useful for the choir (who already know the material it covers well) than for new recruits to the sequential analysis methodology.
