Flashing, Pulsating Angioma

While he was an inpatient, a single, round (2 cm in diameter), tender, subepidermal nodule that was centrally elevated developed spontaneously overnight around a hair follicle on his right thigh. The lesion pigment changed from a skin-colored to an erythematous tone, flashing in time with the patient's pulse (Video 1), yet no single, subcutaneous arterial vessel could be palpated.
