Zusammenfassung:This article explores how the family vacation and the family vacation decision process have changed due to the implementation of year-round school in a Midwestern school system in the United States. A total of 96 families responded to a mail survey that dealt with the characteristics of the family vacation before and after the implementation of year-round school. The results indicate that year-round school has had a significant impact on vacation patterns. Implications for tourism are discussed.
