Zusammenfassung: | To enhance the blood flow through the lungs and thereby to increase sharply the delivery of oxygen and energy to brain and other organs, a special organ--the network of relatively very large microvessels--developed in mammals in the lung tissue in the course of evolution. The diameter of these vessels, being from 20 to 40 m and even to 50 m, permits increasing the linear blood flow rate 610 and more times as compared with capillaries. |
