Zusammenfassung:Majoritic garnets are widely abundant as inclusions in diamonds from various regions worldwide. The formation of such minerals is controlled by high pressure dissolution of the majoritic (MgSiO3) component in the composition of garnet, which occurs under the sublithospheric conditions (the lowermost upper mantle and transition zone). In addition, signs of crystallization at pressures above 78 GPa are observed for garnets from mantle xenoliths in kimberlites, as well as in rocks from ultra high pressure metamorphic complexes.
