Some highlights of the collection are: more than 1,200 horticulture prints, posters, trade catalogs, and ephemera, including a large holding of business correspondence of the Page Seed Company from Greene, N. Y.; approximately 250 American Civil War prints, posters, and military certificates; some 2,000 prints, sample books, publications, and ephemera related to Boston lithographer Louis Prang & Company; over 1,800 items from 19th-century American industrial fairs and expositions, including a large holding of prints, ephemera, and guide books from the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition; more than 3,000 American fashion prints and ephemera advertising products, merchants, and services; approximately 8,000 lithographed fruit and vegetable labels with special emphasis on labels printed for growers, packers, and distributors in Southern California; an extensive archive of American railroad material including about 150 prints, posters, and maps, 1,150 stock certificates, and 3,000 passes; and more than 1,800 American theatrical broadsides, posters, and ephemera.
