Stages of formation of the Vilyui sedimentary basin: Possible mechanisms on the basis of backstripping analysis and numerical modeling

Study of the reasons for and mechanisms of the formation of concrete sedimentary basins, along with other methods, is performed using the method of backstripping analysis. The backstripping analysis allows researchers to reveal two stages of extension, which resulted in accumulation of sediments with a thickness of 45 km, and the stage of collision, which caused accumulation of ~2 km sediments.
