Zusammenfassung:For some organizations like the needle manufacturer, equipment breakdown causes more downtime than even product changeovers. Preventing breakdowns starts in the design phase for any process. The process and its equipment are designed to minimize breakdowns and the process is running, it is time to keep it that way. Breakdowns occur even at companies with solid preventive maintenance programs in place so we need to go beyond our preventive maintenance program and look at Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). TPM starts with developing knowledge and understanding of our equipment and how it functions. Developing knowledge and understanding includes having a good library of information on each piece of equipment and any key subcomponents. A color-coding device indicating different time intervals. The device displays yellow to represent the weekly timeframe and red to signify the daily timeframe.
