Zusammenfassung: | The myostatin (MSTN) gene is one of the genes that influence the growth of beef cattle that can improve the quality and quantity of meat. This study aimed to analyze the polymorphism of the MSTN gene in Bali cattle using PCR-RFLP. The total DNA sample used was 120 samples consisting of 50 Bali cattle from BPTU-HPT Denpasar, 50 Bali cattle from BPT-HMT Serading, and 20 Limousine cattle from BPTU-HPT Padang Mangatas. The polymorphism of SNPs c.400G>A, c.4905C>G, and c.4957C>G of the MSTN gene was analyzed using PCR-RFLP. Therefore, Hind-III, BsrI, and Alu-I enzymes were used as restriction enzymes. Genotype and allele frequencies, heterozygosity, and Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were analyzed using Popgene32. The results show that SNPs c.400G>A and c.4905C>G of the MSTN gene have 2 alleles. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the SNPs c.400G>A of the MSTN gene were polymorphic, while SNPs c.4905C>G and c.4957C>G were monomorphic. |
