Next the basic characteristics and categories of value and its importance to the organization are discussed. Subsequently different aspects of the business model concept are presented and the various definitional approaches to the issue were explained. The last part of the chapter presents the implications of trends for changes in the behavior of the organization and its business model, including those caused by the recession and current trends: innovation and digitization. This chapter introduces value as a foundational aspect of sports' business models. It discusses the basic characteristics and categories of value and its importance to the organization. The chapter then explains different aspects of the business model concept are presented and the various definitional approaches to the issue. It also presents the implications of trends for changes in the behavior of the organization and its business model, including those caused by the recession and current trends: innovation and digitization. Values are generally defined as principles or standards that are considered worthwhile or desirable. Value is expressed in four basic dimensions: value proposition, value architecture, value network, and financial value. The starting point for any business model is the skillful definition of value.
