Zusammenfassung: | Chapter 6 is designed to cover the fundamentals of plate theory for stress and deflection analysis of circular and rectangular plates under concentrated and uniform pressure loadings.
This chapter covers the fundamentals of plate theory for stress and deflection analysis of circular and rectangular plates under concentrated and uniform pressure loadings. To be specific, thin plates are analyzed where the ratio of the thickness to the smaller length is less than 1/20th. The deflection behavior of the plate is shown, and in addition the in-plane stress formulations are developed. Thus, resulting in the general form for the deflection behavior of a clamped-edge plate. It is known that the maximum deflection occurs at the center of the plate. A flat steel circular plate of 1.524E-3 m thick with diameter of 0.152 m is subjected to a 0.041 MPa uniform pressure on the surface. Determine the maximum plate deflection at the center and the radial stresses at the center and boundary edges of the plate. |
