Zusammenfassung: | Design to Value is premised on architectural thinking as the modus operandi of every element of every project's process. In harmony with the refinement of certain processes is a recommitment to the social, which is re-emerging as a central consideration. Design to Value is structured around making spaces that support people to live and work - it is not about building a building but building a place for value. City planning and design is a complex activity with wide ramifications for many people. The urgent need to settle refugees with all the preconceptions and politics of everyday planning is a large and often overwhelming job. Commissioned by the city authorities, City Science Lab began a project called Finding Places. Engaging directly with members of the public they set up a number of workshops facilitated by the Urban Renewal and Urban Development Corporation Hamburg. |
