Navigating through this book may have triggered trauma and feelings of uncomfortableness. As Native People, throughout the historical and contemporary exemplifications, we have endured countless injustices. It has been incumbent upon us to find ways to heal ourselves, beyond the bounds of resilience. For many, our healing journeys remain embedded in everyday lived experiences and the practice of our traditional ways. Many of those who have lost their traditional practices through cultural genocide have had to adapt and borrow from other Indigenous groups.
