Zusammenfassung:Pollution has affected human population with range of adverse effects. But exposure to pollution and its impacts also depend on individuals' health, age, indoor and outdoor activities, financial status and so on. All these aspects can be collectively represented by term socioeconomic status (SES). The SES of an individual and a population is different for developed and developing countries. Although it is true that the economically weaker section of society is more susceptible to pollution, it cannot be considered as applicable for global population specifically for some developing countries. More data analysis, discussion and improvement in the SES of a population are required to form a state policy to protect those who are most vulnerable to it. Emphasis should be placed more on individuals' exposure to pollution rather analyzing it on a community level. Study of various parameters to calculate personal index of exposure is need of the hour.
