Zusammenfassung: | This chapter discusses the user paring range (multicast range) for device‐to‐device (D2D) multicast content delivery. It provides an evaluation metric to determine when to use the user paring scheme. In addition to the content delivery pattern, the energy efficiency of D2D content delivery needs to be considered for the sake of green fifth‐generation. The chapter considers a cellular network where user equipments (UEs) are randomly located. UEs transmit data under either cellular mode or D2D mode. Two ways for content delivery can be utilized according to a predefined mode selection strategy, that is, D2D delivery and cellular delivery. For D2D delivery, the number of benefiting user equipments is one of the key evaluation metrices to determine the efficiency of delivery. The intention of D2D delivery is to improve resource efficiency for the cellular content delivery by using proactive cache and proximal transmission. |
