Zusammenfassung: | This chapter discusses a general reference framework for the design and implementation of a Smart city. It describes the features of a Smart city, the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) in a Smart city, various technologies and communication protocols used in a Smart city. The chapter discusses creating and monitoring sustainable energy like solar, wind, and biomass. It presents the results obtained from the earlier devices for a small-scale area, which can be further expanded for an entire city, making the city smart. The chapter reviews the various IoT technologies and communication protocols used in this work. It focuses on the practical applications of the Smart city model proposed in this work, including weather monitoring, water management, waste management, renewable and sustainable energy harvesting necessary in a Smart city. Economic infrastructure indicates the ability of the city to show stable jobs, and economic growth is also referred to as a smart economy. |
