Zusammenfassung:This chapter describes a system for real-time traffic control in cross-junction roads that recognizes the direction in which an emergency vehicle will arrive well in advance, allowing emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks to arrive at their destination as quickly as possible. This device works best in an open setting, such as a cross-section of a road. It functions as a traffic dilution device to assist road traffic controllers (traffic cops) in allowing emergency vehicles to pass through congested traffic at traffic signals. The Arduino ATmega328P microcontroller was used in the Intelligent Emergency Vehicle Control System (iECS) module to collect data about the emergency vehicle’s direction of travel and send it to the Intelligent Traffic Light Control System (iTLS) module via a radio frequency module with a unique tag. The traffic signal sequence will continue once the emergency vehicle has passed across the cross junction road, allowing commuters to proceed as usual. To control or alter traffic signal routines, this system does not require any human intervention. It operates automatically, providing the traffic signal controller with the necessary advance information and ensuring commuter safety. The system can be linked to other traffic light intersections in a given area, allowing an emergency vehicle driver to take a different route to get to their destination as quickly as feasible. This chapter describes a system for real-time traffic control in cross-junction roads that recognizes the direction in which an emergency vehicle will arrive well in advance, allowing emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks to arrive at their destination as quickly as possible. To minimize traffic problems typically faced by ambulances, an intelligent transport system is proposed. The proposed system has two modules, which communicate with and are controlled by sophisticated hardware components: an intelligent traffic light control system and an ambulance control system. Therefore, it is necessary to design a smart signal traffic control system which can ensure the current duration time and also give priority to some lanes according to real-time traffic conditions. The rapidly increasing vehicle population in India causes many issues in terms of transport management for emergency vehicles such as ambulances, the fire service, other emergency vehicles, etc., in the cities and towns of the country.
