Growing Opportunities in the Sukuk Markets

The opportunities for Islamic finance in capital market are always increasing. A lot of instruments like T-bills and government funding bonds that can be replaced by Sukuk and these financial instruments can become a driving force of any economy. The studies and facts show the immense potential in world capital markets. Because of Sukuk appealing structure and benefits, it attracts all sorts of investors and financiers (from both Islamic and non-Islamic capital markets) to join in their exchange procedure. The chapter suggests that mostly three types of Sukuk can be launched to fulfill the finance requirements of economies, namely Project-based Sukuks, Balance Sheet-specific Sukuks, and Asset-based Sukuks.
