When I was not researching Mozumdar, there were things about life in Seattle I greatly enjoyed: the outdoors, the independent book stores, and the coffee shops. I developed a routine that consisted of weekend hiking trips through Bainbridge Island or Mount Rainier, mornings getting black coffee at Victrola Roasters or Ada’s, and evenings spent at the Elliot Bay Book Company looking through their books stacked on pinewood shelves.
