Zusammenfassung: | This chapter discusses four types of pressurized equipment with unique features, namely heat exchangers, dimpled jackets, layered vessels, and rectangular vessels. The fabrication of these types of equipment requires special attention to some of the details discussed in this chapter. Vessels operating at high temperatures require refractory and/or insulation to protect the metal from high temperatures and possible erosion and or corrosion. A summary of some of the decisions that need to be made if the insulation or refractory is installed at the pressure vessel manufacturer's plant is given as follows. Pressure vessels are supported in a variety of ways. Small lightweight vessels are normally supported by structural legs. This type of support is the most economical one to fabricate. |
