Zusammenfassung:References to Germanic history, culture, and especially Norse-Germanic mythology are found in a significant portion of the far-right scene in the German-speaking world. The far right is indeed here following the model of National Socialism, that also at least partially used the Germanic peoples as a means of legitimating their own ideology. However, the extent of the reception and the quality of the reference for the political programme of the far right can be evaluated on its own, especially as the mythological elements are emphasised far more strongly here than may be shown to have been the case in the Third Reich.
