Zusammenfassung: | This literature review continues to look at factors driving that has helped determine the factors driving demand and supply for housing. This literature review also includes a discussion on demand-side and supply-side policy tools used by the government. Housing demand in the United States is driven by population growth, household formations, and other economic factors. Demographic demand for housing is a key factor driven mainly by population generations; Baby-Boomers, Gen X, Millennials (Eco-Boomers), Gen Z, etc. Net housing supply promotion through policy initiatives are critical to meet waves of population booms. Different types of policy tools have been used to meet this demand; however, there continues to be chronic shortages. |
