Home life

This chapter looks at how these technologies are affecting the way we live at home. This chapter points out the technologies which will have the greatest impact on our home lives from AI to big data and 3-D printing. It gives a discussion of how AI will make homes ‘smarter’ and how IoT will help control home appliances through electronically controlled Internet-connected systems. An exploration is given of how robotics will change the home. This chapter will focus on how ‘home life’ has and will become more convenient and efficient through the adoption of these technologies and has given people more time to focus on other tasks. However, it also looks at the possible implications of having a highly Internet-connected home that produces tremendous amounts of data that is then shared with companies.
