Zusammenfassung:The morphometric analysis was carried out, wherein the different linear, aerial, and relief parameters were calculated for the study area. In the present research work, Strahler's (1964) modified scheme of stream order was followed. The study reveals that the study area's drainage features reflect hard rock terrain control despite unconsolidated erosional deposits at low‐lying areas. The overall geomorphic landscape is mature to youthful. The maximum stream segment length is noted for first‐order streams, which generally decrease as the stream order increases. Drainage density, mean bifurcation ratio, and stream frequency of Pohru watershed is 3.00/km, 2.16, and 3.94/km. Subsequently, the calculated sinuosity index value of 1.36 indicates that the river Pohru is of the meandering type. Based on the above parameters, it can be concluded that the watershed has moderate to high susceptibility to flooding in low‐lying areas. Moreover, the morphology of the relief and lithological structure favors the development of erosion processes in the watershed.
