Zusammenfassung:The home/school connection is vital to the success of students. This key relationship should not be lost when education shifts to a remote teaching and learning environment. This chapter explores the realities of students learning from home and the many considerations teachers must make as they try to continue the learning experience in an environment that may not be as predictable as the school campus. Will there be access to devices and high-speed internet? Will students have support systems at home that help develop self-regulation skills to maintain a steady learning routine? What support can parents/guardians provide? How can teachers scaffold assignments and tasks to be both tech reliant as well as non-tech reliant? What support can the teacher provide families who are also learning new skills at home? The processes and strategies adopted will need to take into consideration the community at large and readily available resources.
