One more thing

This chapter offers up “… one more opportunity I want to share while I have you here. It’s something I know can benefit you and your company. It can also benefit the people beyond your company and all the living things around us.” The elixir offered here is an array of methods for conserving habitat. This chapter defines habitat and more specifically habitat conservation, restoration, and creation in three realms: economic practicality, social commitment, and ecological reciprocity. These operational realms grow in scale and benefit from native landscaping meant to yield primarily economic returns, to habitats meant for creating opportunities for companies to engage with their communities and finally altruistic, reciprocal land conservation meant as a way to protect habitats and the biodiversity represented there for their own sake. Methods are presented to accomplish all the three with examples of each from well-known companies.
