The Australian Mission

The Australian Mission marked the last official visit of McKay and Cannon’s ecclesiastical tour of the Pacific Basin. Before their three-month journey home via South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, the two men spent nearly a month gauging the state of church affairs in Oceania. At the outset of their Australian tour, McKay and Cannon took a rare break from their arduous meeting schedule to make a brief foray to the Blue Mountains, visiting the Jenolan Caves and Mount Victoria. In the following weeks, they spoke at meetings across Tasmania, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane. McKay recognized the difficulties
