Zusammenfassung:This book chapter highlights the different kinds of heteroatom based materials that have been used in electronic devices, such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic photovoltaic cells (OPV cells), dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), and electrochromic cells. Nowadays, new materials with specific properties are still needed for the development of efficient and easily processable organic devices. The control of their properties can be achieved by varying the chemical composition of the conjugated systems and a fruitful approach involves the incorporation of heteroatoms into the backbone of conjugated frameworks.
