Zusammenfassung: | This chapter helps the readers to understand the what/why/how of new storage technologies in Windows Server 2016. These technologies include file systems, data deduplication, storage spaces, storage replica, and storage quality of service (QoS). The two primary file systems for use in Windows Server 2016 are new technology file system (NTFS) and resilient file system (ReFS). Storage Spaces is the virtualized storage solution built into Windows Server. It integrates with failover clustering and cluster shared volumes (CSVs) for scale‐out file server implementations. Storage replica is a data replication technology that syncs data from server to server or from cluster to cluster. It has several prerequisites and the chapter describes all these. The developers need to pay close attention to the prerequisites before they start their deployment. After developers deploy new storage technologies, they need to keep them running. The chapter finally explains the readers about how to maintain the storage technologies. |
