Zusammenfassung: | The potential to apply positional data cannot be limited only to the field of match analysis. With an eye to practice, it becomes apparent that the application of data in the physical arena is currently comparatively well established. This chapter investigates how performance diagnostics benefit from this new source of fitness data. Combined with all types of additional sensor technology, as in the case of wearable devices, experts aim to make loads more measurable to prevent injuries. Yet, no sound scientific models have been found and teams usually rely on best practice. In two interviews, Dr. Holger Broich, head of health and fitness at Bayern Munich, gives a first insight, and Prof. Dr. Lochmann, sports scientist, sports physician, and UEFA A-license coach, casts a scientific perspective on the topic.
This chapter investigates how performance diagnostics benefit from the new source of fitness data. Dr. Holger Broich is DFB-A-license coach and did his doctorate at the German Sport University Cologne about "Quantitative procedures for performance diagnostics in competitive football—empirical studies and evaluations of various performance-affecting parameters."Positional data can be used for the acquisition of the physical load from a performance physiological point of view. |
