Zusammenfassung: | The Kansa have been the subjects of the state and local history of Kansas since before the turn of the twentieth century. Founders of the Kansas State Historical Society began by locating and identifying Kansa villages and collecting reminiscences of eyewitnesses of the villages. This unique and detailed record represents much of the initial research on the history of Kansas. A history of the Kansa was published in 1908 (Morehouse 1908 :327–368). Other histories have been written as adjuncts to archaeological investigations (Marshall 2000: 57–89; W. R. Wedel 1946: 1–35; 1959: 19–54). One study is presented |
