This chapter explores the work of activists who campaign to resist mafia extortion. These activists, who grew up amid the mafia violence of the 1980s and 1990s, have become influential teachers, journalists, attorneys, and social entrepreneurs. Drawing on extensive interviews with the founding members of one of the leading anti-extortion groups in Italy, Addiopizzo, I explore the radical public pedagogical methods they use to educate local and global communities about resistance |
