Levi was elected thanks to the support of the Jewish and some of the Arab residents of two neighborhoods that stood on the frontier between Jaffa and Tel Aviv: the Yemenite Quarter (hereafter Kerem Hatemanim, which literally means the Yemenite vineyard) and Neve Shalom.
