Zusammenfassung: | This chapter shows how to map the social change competencies to job descriptions by identifying action words and proficiency levels. It examines how to realign job descriptions based on the proficiency mapping. Accurate job descriptions have been proven to help organizations with performance management, staff planning, and training and development. Keeping job responsibilities up to date also ensures that responsibilities fit the overall purpose of the position and match the proficiency level of the employee or volunteer. The chapter looks at the proficiency mapping process using the job description of an executive director of a small grassroots organization. It provides some sample proficiency maps for positions within the other three types of social change organizations: volunteer‐run, midsized, and grantmaking. The chapter also provides examples of organization‐wide proficiency mapping results for all four types of organizations. |
