Zusammenfassung: | The use of repeaters diminished greatly as modern DSL and fiber technology became prevalent. The use of repeaters has become relatively rare, but the use of multi‐pair bonding is growing, because bonding avoids most of the drawbacks of repeaters. Dynamic spectrum management (DSM) introduces the concept of a spectrum management center (SMC). The SMC is a central management system that has knowledge of most or all of the lines in the cable, and it is aware of the service attributes for each line. Vectoring is a technique to reduce the effects of the crosstalk between DSLs operating in the same cable. DSL vectoring may consist of receiver‐based noise cancellation techniques and transmitter‐based precoding techniques. Femtocell wireless technology is a way to extend the benefits of broadband access throughout the home or business. |
