Zusammenfassung: | This chapter discusses how to set organizational goals and objectives for professional development by utilizing the results from the talent development platform assessments. To begin the goal‐setting process, one should have strategic goals and business plans available for all staff, volunteers, and board members. On‐the‐job learning experiences need to fit with the professional development goals created by the organization and follow alongside mentoring and training. Once on‐the‐job objectives and determined mentor or peer‐to‐peer opportunities are identified, the next step is to identify professional development training. Training resources should be based on the type of organization, learning style, competency area, and geographic location. The chapter presents an example of how a fundraising department can set objectives related to its overall organizational goals of increasing advocacy proficiencies among all staff. It shows the completed talent development platforms for various organizations including volunteer‐run organization, small grassroots organization, midsized organization and grantmaking organization. |
