Policy involvement of CEOs has not received the attention it should, even though it comes as no surprise based on the previous literature. Even traditional views of the roles of administrators include the expectation that CEOs offer extensive technical advice. How top administrators initiate or get drawn into providing assistance to officials as politicians or assist officials in dealing with politically sensitive situations has not been examined, however.
