Initiating the project

During the initiating phase of the project, data is gathered to support the business case for the e-learning course and general boundaries are identified and documented in the project charter. This chapter focuses on forming a small project team to create the project charter, gather foundation data for the project charter (or business case for the course) and document the results of that research in the project charter. The illustration above outlines what the project charter team will do during the initiating phase and the deliverables from this phase.
