Zusammenfassung: | The general traits of the temporal development of the Iron Age houses in the Gudme area are examined in connection with the separate phases of the settlements at Gudme III and IV (Chapters 2.5 and 3.4). Together, the two settlements at Gudme represent the longest sequence of Iron Age houses that have been excavated from the period AD 200–850.
As many of the excavated houses are very poorly preserved and in a number of cases only consist of the roof-bearing posts, the distances between the individual roof-bearing posts and the sections that they form, are the only recurring parameters |
