Zusammenfassung: | This chapter consists of a medley of notes on various subjects written while conducting a workshop in Berlin in 1981. It combines instructions by Cynkutis to the Polish and English-language companies working on Phaedra-Seneca in the Wroclaw Second Studio (DSW) with post-rehearsal. The new type of actor-person, acting in the name of the highest humanistic values, builds a foundation for relations of trust between people and encourages processes of integration while simultaneously safeguarding the field for the richness of individual creative attitudes. The creation of a workshop for actors as animators of creative social actions will represent a step in the evolution of theatrical art and will open up for it a completely new function: a function not of presentation, demonstration, of playing a 'hero' armed with craft, but of a servant. The actor as animator stimulates creative activity, transforming 'spectators' into active creators, containing their activity in forms that guarantee safety, dignity, and respect for diverse types of behaviour. |
