Zusammenfassung:Synchronization is driven by company efforts to adopt a demand‐driven supply chain. In the past, companies based production on forecasts; now companies are using demand signals, such as cash register sales, to determine what they make and ship to customers. As companies embrace demand‐driven production and replenishment, they will have to move toward “protean” supply chains, which can readily adjust their practices and operations to changing business conditions.
