Framework for measuring the environmental efficiency of IT and setting strategies for green IT: A case study providing guidance to chief information officers

Sustainability has become one of the greatest challenges of society today. To companies sustainability is essential to the long-term successfulness of business operations and is often driven by factors such as costs, new market opportunities, ethical responsibility and imago (Dao, et al., 2011; Porter and Kramer, 2006; Schaltegger, 2008; Unhelkar, 2011). A result of this has been increasing attention to sustainability in several industries.
